“ Got to try the Barracuda taco stand. Only bummer was not having parking and needing to find a space on the street. I had the chips and salsa, two beef and two pork tacos with Chilada. The tacos were amazing nice portion sizes and very very tasty. I opted for the plain taco with no cheese and I am glad I did because then I got to taste the taco in a pure form. Chips and salsa were nice and salsa is very mild no heat whatsoever. It added a nice punch of flavor to each taco too. The cicerone’s on the pork tacos were perfectly crunchy and a nice touch. The Chilada was not a a simple beer with a salted rim and lime. I would have loved to gotten a Tomato based Michelada. I would definitely come back. There was a good selection of seating outside and the misters were nice to help keep the heat down. Service was outstanding too. Fast and very professional plus they gave a military discount which is always appreciated. Thanks for a great meal and experience. ”

I used to be a regular at their other spot on Pelican Ave, which never disappointed—and I’m happy to report that the experience here was just as fantastic. If you’re looking for high-quality, no-fuss street tacos in New Orleans, Barracuda is the place. The food is consistently excellent, and the overall vibe makes it easy to enjoy whether you’re a first-timer or a returning fan. There are plenty of authentic taco spots around the city and the Westbank, but for non-Spanish speakers, the ordering experience can sometimes feel intimidating. That’s not the case at Barracuda—you still get that authentic flavor and energy, but in a welcoming, accessible environment. The outdoor seating area is thoughtfully designed, with plenty of shade and comfort features like fans and misters to keep you cool even in the New Orleans heat. They even provide table fans, which help keep flies away—a detail I really appreciated. We also had a group of birds nearby that added to the experience (my son especially loved pointing out where they were landing). Bathrooms were impressively clean and fully air-conditioned, which was a pleasant surprise. Another nice touch: the free chilled water dispenser, which should be a standard everywhere. And the Salsa Verde? Absolute perfection. Make sure to ask about the daily specials, and if you plan to come back (and you probably will), consider joining their rewards program. All in all, Barracuda delivers a great meal in a great setting—accessible, thoughtful, and consistently delicious. I honestly can’t hype this place up enough. ”
